A new (shit) era.

Well, the days of New Labour, prosperity and the strive for equality are over…we have a Conservative government with Liberal Democrat support.

I suppose it was perhaps inevitable that poshboy Clegg would do anything to get a taste of power, over the need for a progressive coalition to take Britain forward.

Gordon Brown resigns

For the record, I voted Labour so please do not moan to me about what happens henceforth unless you also voted Labour!

RIP Progressive politics…

If you thought David Cameron was the only one who could buy Nick Clegg, think again!

Music

Music can have such a profound effect on people.

I played my violin to a family friend in London today who had suffered a severe stroke - I played her the Bruch concerto which turned out to be her favourite piece. Afterwards, her sister commented that she’d never seen her look so happy in two years…

That’s what music should be about..and that’s what I intend to do too… :)

2010 Election

Bring on next Thursday…2010 election night drinking game chez Jonny Lawrence’s (in theory!)

Nothing like a lot of alcohol to make the prospect of a Conservative government less scary for a while!

Today

Today has been tiring and boring…playing the theme tune to Superman in school orchestra can be no-one’s idea of fun. And now for some more harmony practise before tomorrow’s exam, and then violin teaching tonight…chore.

Maybe I should do my history essay…or just find mildly humorous images of Gladstone instead.

Part of my A2 Music recital - first movement from Bruch’s Violin Concerto.
